SEATTLE – Franck Kepnang, a 6-11 center from Yaoundé, Cameroon, is joining the Huskies. The Oregon transfer averaged 4.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 14.5 minutes last season, and had at least one block in 23 games.
"Franck will have an immediate impact. His rebounding and defensive ability are extraordinary. With him anchoring our defense, we will be very difficult to score against. He also has a knack for scoring around the basket. We are thrilled to have him on the team." Head Coach Mike Hopkins.
Kepnang played at Westtown High School in West Chester, PA. ESPN ranked Kepnang the fourth best center in the nation, fifth by Rivals and eighth by 247Sports. Out of high school, Kepnang was rated the No. 3 player in Pennsylvania by 247Sports.
