March 23, 2022 | Women's Golf
The Washington women's golf team heads to the desert Southwest this weekend to play in the three-day PING/ASU Invitational, at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix.
In their most recent outing, the Huskies finished third at the Juli Inkster Invitational at the Meadow Club in Northern California. Washington's Camille Boyd shot a 7-under 65 in the final round to win individual medalist honors with a three-round total of 14-under 202. In doing so, she held off a challenge from the world's No. 1-ranked amateur, Rose Zhang of Stanford, who shot a course-record 64 in the final round, but still came up three strokes shy of the Boyd's total.
The win moved Boyd 36 spots up the GolfStat.com individual rankings from No. 73 to No. 37.
The PING/ASU Invitational, hosted by Arizona State, will be contested on the 6,426-yard, par-72 Papago Golf Course. The field includes more than half of the Pac-12's women's programs.
Washington will send the following lineup to Papago. The Huskies will tee off beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday:
1. Camille Boyd
2. Jenny Chang
3. Kennedy Knox
4. Jamie Hsieh
5. Stefanie Deng
Following the PING/ASU Invitational, the Huskies will next head to the Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif., April 4-6.
