February 08, 2022 | Men's Golf
Washington's RJ Manke is one of 30 players named to the watch list for the 20220Ben Hogan Award.

Manke, a fifth-year senior from Lakewood, Wash., is in his first season as a Husky, having transferred from Pepperdine after last season. In his brief time at UW, he has already won two individual titles and has finished in the top three in six of seven events he has played as a Husky. Last weekend, in a very strong field that featured six of the nation's top-eight teams, Manke finished third at the Amer Ari Invitational on the Big Island, at 16-under par (67-67-66), helping the UW to a fifth-place team finish.
Manke also won the Fighting Irish Classic and the Oregon State Invitational last fall, and finished in the top thrree at the Maui JIm Intercollegiate, the Husky Invitational and the Windon Memorial.
This year's list of 10 semifinalists, which could include individuals not on the watch list, will be unveiled on Friday, April 15. That group will be pared down to three finalists on Thursday, May 5. The finalists will attend a black-tie dinner on Monday, May 23, at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, where the winner will be crowned.
The Ben Hogan Award's selection committee votes during each stage of the process. The selection committee is comprised of 32 leaders in collegiate, amateur and professional golf. The Ben Hogan Award has honored the outstanding amateur collegiate golfer at Colonial Country Club since 2002. Prior to its move to Fort Worth, the original Ben Hogan Trophy, which was awarded based on a different list of criteria, was issued at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles beginning in 1990.
Ben Hogan Award winners at Colonial have combined to accumulate 67 worldwide victories, including 49 PGA TOUR wins, and have amassed more than $320 million in prize money across the globe. Additionally, the group has appeared in 12 Ryder Cups and a dozen Presidents Cups.
Since 2002, the Hogan Trophy Award Foundation has awarded over $825,000 in scholarships to more than 30 universities. For more information on the Ben Hogan Award presented by PNC Bank, visit TheBenHoganAward.org and follow @BenHoganAward on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
