No. 9 Women Ready For Vegas Return Run

BATTLE BORN COLLEGIATE CHALLENGE
Friday, Feb. 19 | Las Vegas, Nev.
Craig Ranch Regional Park
Women's 6k - 10:45 a.m. | Live Results
SEATTLE - Washington's ninth-ranked women's cross country team has returned to Las Vegas with a larger pack this time, ready for its second race of the season at Craig Ranch Regional Park. Held on the same course as UW's opener back on Feb. 1, this time around the meet is known as the Battle Born Collegiate Challenge. Washington will race the 6k at 10:45 a.m. Pacific time on Friday morning.
The Husky men's team is not making the trip back to Nevada this week, and will next compete at the Pac-12 Championships in University Place, Wash. at Chambers Bay on March 5. The women wanted to test themselves once more with more pieces added to the puzzle, against some more highly ranked opposition, before turning their attention to the postseason.
There are two women's races and depending on how the fields are divided, the Huskies could be running alongside No. 4 New Mexico, No. 5 Colorado, No. 6 Stanford, No. 11 Boise State or No. 16 Northern Arizona.
Ten Huskies have made the trip: Camila David-Smith, Madison Heisterman, Haley Herberg, Kelly Makin, Andrea Markezich, Kiera Marshall, Allie Schadler, Mel Smart, Naomi Smith, and Hannah Waskom. At the first meet in Vegas, Herberg and Smith led the Huskies in fifth and sixth-places. Nearly all the Huskies making the trip tuned up with an indoor track race or two last week at the UW Invitational.
