December 07, 2021 | Men's Soccer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Dylan Teves and Ryan Sailor were both named semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, it was announced on Tuesday.
The Hermann Trophy is the top individual honor in collegiate soccer and has been presented annually since 1967.
Teves, a junior from Kailua, Hawaii, leads the Huskies with 12 goals and 31 points this season. He is also believed to be the first player in NCAA history with back-to-back postseason hat tricks after scoring 3 goals in the Second Round against Portland and another 3 goals in the Third Round against Indiana. Teves has been named to the All-Pac-12 First Team in back-to-back seasons. This marks the second straight season that Teves has been named a semifinalist for the award.
Sailor, a senior from Centennial, Colorado, has blossomed into one of the most dynamic players in the country. As a centerback, Sailor is tied for second on Washington with his 6 goals on the season and 14 points. As a team captain and anchor of the Husky defense, Sailor has also been a key part in helping the Washington defense keep 11 clean sheets this season. He was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and All-Pac-12 First Team for his efforts this fall.
A total of 15 players were named to the semifinalist list, as voted on by NCAA Division I men's soccer coaches.
On December 15th, the list will be trimmed down again to three finalists for the award, which will be presented on January 7th, 2022.
