Washington Earns WCGA All-Academic Award
August 11, 2020 | Gymnastics
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Washington Huskies earned the WCGA All-Academic Team award for their excellence in the classroom. Washington finished with the highest team GPA of any Pac-12 school and the 14th-highest of the 74 gymnastics programs in the nation.
This is the second consecutive year that Washington has finished with the highest team GPA in the Pac-12. Only Denver finished with a higher team GPA amongst "Power Five" schools. 13 of Washington's 16 qualifying gymnasts finished with a GPA over 3.5, one of only 23 programs in the nation to have over 80% of its gymnasts reach that mark.
Ellie Bagley, Morgan Bowles, Brenna Brooks, Talia Brovedani, Madison Copiak, Amara Cunningham, Kristyn Hoffa, Michaela Nelson, Evanni Roberson, Meaghan Ruttan, Hannah Vandenkolk, Maya Washington, and Isa Weiss were all named WCGA Academic All-Americans. This is the second consecutive year that Washington has set a school record for most Academic All-Americans, with this year's 13 besting last year's 11.
Hoffa, Nelson, and Roberson all earned their third consecutive WCGA Academic All-American honor, tying the school record for most such awards in a career. That trio is the first group to earn three straight Academic All-American awards since Tacia LaBatte from 2003-2005.
