SAN FRANCISCO --- The revamped Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll was released by the conference office this week with three Huskies earning the impressive honor. This is the first season of the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll which replaces the Pac-12 All-Academic Team.
Junior Jack Davis and sophomores Jack Pulliam and Adam Torocsik earned the honor for the Huskies and were among the 89 UW spring sport athletes to be on the roll.
Davis, who was a second-team Pac-12 All-Academic team pick last season, is an economics major with a 3.69 cumulative GPA. A co-captain, he played No. 1 singles and doubles for the Huskies and posted a 19-8 singles record and 13-11 doubles mark. Davis recently earned the ITA's NW Region Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award and the NW Region Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award.
Torocsik is a sophomore who boasts a 3.32 GPA in Environmental Science and Terrestrial Resource Management at UW. He broke into the singles line up this year and finished with a 4-3 record at No. 6 singles in dual matches and was 10-4 overall.
Pulliam, a sophomore transfer who serves with Davis as co-captains, holds a 3.42 GPA in undergraduate work at UW. He posted a 10-8 overall singles record including a 7-4 mark in No. 3 and No. 4 singles and started at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles over the spring portion of the season.
Any student-athlete on his or her respective team roster with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above, and who has served at least one year in residence at the institution, is eligible to receive all-academic honors. There is no longer a selection process to determine all-academic teams for each sport. Any student-athlete who qualifies will be named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll during the season in which he/she competes.
