Anger Wins #400 as Huskies Beat Boise State 5-2

SEATTLE --- Washington put together a solid all-around effort beating Boise State 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Nordstrom Tennis Center, giving UW Head Coach Matt Anger his 400th career victory.
The Huskies improve to 9-7 with the non-conference win, snapping a three-match losing streak and improving to 7-5 at home. Anger improved his overall record to 400-238 as he is midway through his 26th season at UW--a .627 winning percentage. He has accounted for 41% of UW's wins all-time in 107 years of collegiate men's tennis.
The Huskies got off to a strong start with a dominating performance in doubles. Jack Pulliam and Thibault Cancel cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 2 followed by a Alexis Alvarez and Jack Davis victory at No. 1 to clinch the point.
In singles, Davis continued to shine, cruising to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 to be first off. After the Broncos picked up a win at No. 3, Alvarez got the Huskies a step closer to winning the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5. Ewen Lumsden then clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2.
The Huskies closed out the match with a pair of tight matches at No. 4 and No. 6. At six, Adam Torocsik earned a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (5) win, but despite battling through an injury suffered late in the second set, Jack Pulliam fell 6-3, 7-6 (0) at No. 4.
Washington returns to the court on Friday, hosting Samford University in a non-conference match at 3:00 p.m.
