The second-ranked Washington softball team won a pair of games on the first day of the Silicon Valley Classic, scoring early and often in a 9-1 win over St. Francis before hitting five homers and plating 19 runs in a 19-0 win over Santa Clara.
Husky women's tennis opened its Pac-12 slate on a good note, beating No. 44 Utah 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
