
Stewart Named to USBWA District IX Team

SEATTLE – University of Washington freshman Isaiah Stewart has been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District IX team. Stewart is one of three freshman on the 10-man team representing schools in the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Arizona and Alaska.
He recently picked up All-Pac-12 First Team honors along with Pac-12 All-Freshman team recognition.
The Rochester, N.Y. native, quickly made a name for himself this season as he has posted five 20 point/10-rebound double doubles and was the Pac-12's leading freshman scorer and rebounder as he averaged 16.6 points and 8.7 rebounds during the regular season. He recorded 13 double-doubles, which was the second-most in the league.
Stewart has started in all 31 games for the Dawgs, picked up four Pac-12 Freshman of the Week awards and was on the Wooden Award Top 25 Midseason List, the Naismith Trophy Midseason Watch List, the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Top 10 list along with being selected to the NABC Division I Player of the Year watch list. He was named a preseason All-American by NBC Sports, CBS Sports and Street & Smith's.
Washington opens the Pac-12 Tournament on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. as it faces off against Arizona at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
