FULLERTON, Ca. – The #2 Washington Huskies recorded their second straight run-rule victory as they defeated the #11 Michigan Wolverines 10-2. The Huskies scored multiple runs in each of the first three innings for their ninth double-digit scoring game of the year.

Against ranked opponents this season, Washington is averaging seven runs a game, with three double-digit scoring games in those nine.

Aggressive offense paid off handsomely for the Huskies. The Dawgs had two hits in the first three pitches of the game. Twice in the first two innings Washington recorded RBI hits on 0-2 counts as they scored five times to chase Michigan's starter from the game after just 1.1 innings. None of Michigan's three pitchers made it two full innings against the Husky bats.

Kelley Lynch and Baylee Klingler combined to drive in six runs, giving them 24 RBI in nine games against ranked teams. Sami Reynolds reached base safely in each of her plate appearances, giving her a streak of eight straight plate appearances reaching base. Reynolds would also drive in two runs and steal a career-best three bases.

Gabbie Plain settled in after a tough first inning, retiring seven in a row after Michigan scored twice. Plain had perfect innings in the second, third and fifth. She did not allow a hit after the first inning, with Michigan only managing two walks after that.

		SCORING
First Inning: Despite an 0-2 count, Lynch stayed within herself and ripped a line drive inside the leftfield foul pole for her first career grand slam. Michigan would score two in the bottom half off its only three hits. Second Inning: Jadelyn Allchin scored Washington's fifth run, starting things off with a weird double that bounce off the first-base bag, then hit the first-base umpire and rebounded into short rightfield. She would score on Reynolds' single. Two more runs would score in the inning: Reynolds had a live-ball steal of home and Klingler single up the middle for a 7-2 lead. Third Inning: For the third straight inning, the leadoff hitter reached for Washington. Livy Schiele, Taryn Atlee, and Reynolds would single to bring in one run, a sac fly brought in another, and Klingler's second hit in as many innings scored Washington's tenth run.

		NOTES
Lynch (1x3, HR, 4 RBI) is the ninth Husky freshman ever to hit a grand slam and first since Noelle Hee in 2018. Only three freshman ever have had more home runs than Lynch before Pac-12 play: Kylee Lahners, Kristen Rivera, and Jaime Clark. Reynolds (3x3, 3 R, 2 RBI, BB) has reached safely ten times this weekend. She has gone out six times. Reynolds had Washington's first three-steal game since Marki Creger-Zier did so in 2014. Reynolds is the 15^th Husky with a three-steal game. With both of them in the lineup, Bates (1x1, 2 R, RBI) and Reynolds have hit a combined .509 with a .569 OBP, 17 runs and 16 RBI this season. Klingler (2x3, 2B, 2 RBI) has driven in at least one run in every game this weekend. Schiele (1x2, R) has hit .429 on Sundays in her career.

Washington heads back to California next weekend as they will play in the San Jose State/Santa Clara Tournament.
