ATLANTA – The #1 Washington Huskies won a dramatic 8-7 game over the UAB Blazers in walkoff fashion. Sis Bates had the game-winning hit with two outs in the seventh, ripping a liner curving into the rightfield corner to let Jadelyn Allchin waltz in from third and end it.

Allchin and Taryn Atlee each had two hits in the game, with Atlee adding two RBI as well. Morganne Flores and Bates combined to reach base five times at the top of the order, scoring three runs.

Washington was ready to go from the first pitch, scoring six times in the first inning. Madison Huskey's homer in that inning brought in the first three runs of the game, with the Huskies adding an seventh run in the second.

UAB battled back in the middle of the game, with five runs across the fourth and fifth inning to make it 7-6. Washington nearly broke the game wide open again when Flores ripped a low line drive with the bases loaded and two out, only for UAB's shortstop to make a diving catch just off the ground to end the fifth inning.

The Blazers threatened again in the sixth before Gabbie Plain took the circle with runners on the corners and one out. Plain retired all 5 batters she faced, but UAB still managed to tie the game. The junior would earn the win after throwing a perfect seventh before Bates ended it in the bottom half.

		SCORING
First Inning: Down 0-2 with two runners on, Huskey launched a ball well over the leftfield wall for her first homer of the season in her first at-bat of the game. That keyed a six-run frame, with Lynch and Atlee both rocketing balls off diving defenders for RBI hits. Second Inning: Flores' first home run of the year, to dead center over the trees, made it 7-1 after UAB also homered in the top half of the inning. Fourth Inning: UAB homered again, this time with a runner on base, to make it 7-3. Fifth Inning: An error helped UAB string together a rally, scoring three runs in the frame. Sixth Inning: UAB got an RBI groundout with runners on the corners to tie the game. Seventh Inning: After singles by Allchin and Plain, Bates roped one to rightfield to end the game on a walkoff.

		NOTES
Flores (1x3, 2 R, HR, BB) hit her 45^th career home run. She joins Kristen Rivera, Jaime Clark, Ali Aguilar, and Kylee Lahners as the only Huskies to ever hit that many. Atlee (2x4, 2 RBI) was retired for the first time this season. She has started 2020 reaching base in eight of ten plate appearances. SilentRain Espinoza (1x1) has started the year 4-for-5. Allchin (2x3, R) has five hits in her first three collegiate games, the most by a Husky freshman since Taylor Van Zee had six. In her last 15 games stretching to 2019, Flores has 13 runs, six home runs, and 16 RBI.
