Husky Hall of Famer Nesby Glasgow, who went on to play 14 years in the NFL following an outstanding career at Washington, has passed away at the age of 62, his family announced Tuesday.
"On behalf of the Washington football team, I want to convey our sympathies to Nesby's family and friends," UW head coach Jimmy Lake said. "He was a great player, an outstanding man, and a terrific example for all Huskies to admire."
Glasgow, who grew up in Lynwood, Calif., came to the UW in 1975, a member of head coach Don James' first Husky team. A standout cornerback and punt returner (he left UW with a school-record 98 career punt returns), he was named first-team all-conference in both 1977 and 1978, while also garnering third-team All-America as a senior.
Glasgow was part of the Huskies' Pac-8 and Rose Bowl Championship team as a junior in 1977, earned four varsity letters, started for three straight seasons, and was a captain of the 1978 Husky squad.
Selected by Baltimore in the eighth round of the 1979 NFL Draft, Glasgow played nine season with the Colts before coming back to Seattle to play for the Seahawks from 1988 to 1992.
Named to the UW football team's All-Century team in 1990, Glasgow was inducted to the Husky Hall of Fame in 2001.
