
Huskies Win Fourth Tournament of the Year at Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE – The 17th ranked University of Washington men's golf team won its fourth tournament of the year on Sunday as it took home the team title at the Seminole Intercollegiate. Washington held a commanding lead during the final 18 holes en route to their three round score of 9-under 855 (289-288-278).
Washington led the field with 53 birdies, two eagles and were 13-under on the par 5's of the course. During Sunday's final round, three Dawgs finished with scores of 4-under 68 and three Huskies placed in the top 10.
"This was a total team effort win by our group today," said assistant coach Thomas Sutton. "To have two freshman finish in the top 10 in a tough field is great for the future of our program and Noah just continues to be solid for us which is great to see. We're learning what each guy needs to work on but we're excited to get this win and continue to get better as we progress in the spring season."
Junior Noah Woolsey was Washington's top finisher as he posted a round three score of 4-under 68 to climb 11 spots on the leaderboard to finish fourth overall at 2-under 214 (74-72-68). The junior improved upon his score during every round saving his best for last on Sunday when he carded a six birdies. It is Woolsey's fourth top 10 finish of the season over seven tournaments.
Just behind him was freshman Petr Hruby who tied for fifth with a 1-under 215 (71-70-74). Even with a 2-over round on Sunday, Hruby stayed in contention thanks to his previous rounds of 1-under 71 and 2-under 70. It is the third top 10 finish for Hruby this year and his third-straight.
Freshman Bo Peng tied for ninth with his 1-over 217 after he turned in his best round of the event on Sunday. Peng went 4-under on the day with seven birdies. He opened with a 1-over during his first four holes but he went on to close strong ending the day with four straight birdies on holes 15-18 to climb 21 spots on the leaderboard into his tie for ninth for his third top 10 showing this season.
Sophomore Paul Margolis also made moves on Sunday jumping 26 spots into a tie for 19th thanks to his 4-under 68 during the final 18 holes. Margolis finished at 3-over 219 (73-78-68) with his final round featuring six birdies. He was clean at 4-under of his final 11 holes on the day .
Rounding out the UW lineup was senior Henry Lee who tied for 27th at 6-over 222 (77-68-77). Junior Jan Schneider, competing as an individual finished tied for 27th as well with his best score coming on Sunday at even-par 72. He also carded a 6-over 222 (73-77-72).
Washington has now won four tournaments this season and return to the course March 8-10 at the Bandon Dunes Championship in Oregon.
