CATHEDRAL CITY, Ca. – In a clash of top-three teams, the #2 Washington Huskies made a statement, winning 12-2 over the #3 Oklahoma Sooners. Washington jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first two innings, hitting four home runs in the game to move to 13-1 on the season.

Washington's offense exploded early, chasing two different Oklahoma pitchers before an out was recorded in the second inning. The Dawgs hit three home runs in the first two innings, twice coming from Baylee Klingler and once from Ari Quiñones. Jadelyn Allchin also homered in the game, hitting her first career blast in the seventh. Those three players entered the day with one combined home run in their Husky careers before this game.

The trio of Livy Schiele, Allchin, and Quiñones, who batted 6-7-8 in the order, combined to go 7-for-11, scoring six runs and driving in seven. Only one member of Washington's starting lineup did not reach base in the game as the Huskies recorded nine hits and eight walks.

Working with a lead from her very first pitch, Kelley Lynch was on in the circle. The freshman did not allow a hit until the third inning, retiring seven straight at one point before that dribbler up the middle. She started the game with four scoreless innings before fighting through some trouble in the fifth and ceding the circle to Gabbie Plain in the sixth.

Plain threw 15 of her first 16 pitches for strikes as she pounded the zone. The junior struck out three in two perfect innings, giving her 18 strikeouts in nine innings of work this weekend.

		SCORING
First Inning: With the leadoff runner on first, the Huskies nearly had a home run from Morganne Flores, who flew out to the wall in center. One batter later, Klingler got the barrel on the ball and sent it well over the right-center wall for a two-run bomb. Second Inning: The Huskies followed a familiar formula to score again: a leadoff walk, followed by Quiñones hitting a two-run home run, the first of her career. After that, is was Klingler going deep for the second time in as many at-bats to make it 6-0. Fourth Inning: Quiñones earned her first career multi-hit game with a leadoff single, then would score on a bang-bang play at the plate on Reynolds' sacrifice fly to centerfield. Fifth Inning: Oklahoma strung together a few hits for the first time in the game to get two runs on the board. Sixth Inning: Washington responded to Oklahoma's first scoring rally right away: three straight singles started the sixth, with Quiñones dropping down a bunt single for another RBI. Seventh Inning: The Huskies put four runs on the board thanks in large part to another home run. Allchin hit the first of her career, a rocket that carried over the left-center wall.

		NOTES
Klingler (2x2, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 BB) is hitting .500 with nine RBI when hitting third in the lineup. Klingler is the first Husky since Julia DePonte in 2016 to hit multiple home runs against a top-ten team and the first since Kristen Rivera in 2003 to do so against a top-five team. As a freshman, Klingler had three games with three or more RBI. She has four such games in 14 appearances this season. Quiñones (3x4, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI) surpassed her freshman year RBI total in 13 fewer games. Reynolds (0x2, R, RBI, BB) has scored in nine of the last 11 times she reached base safely. Against ranked opponents, Lynch (5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 K) has a 2.57 ERA, with 12 strikeouts in 13.2 innings.

Washington finishes the weekend with a game against #25 Northwestern tomorrow at 9:00 am.
