CATHEDRAL CITY, Ca. – The #2 Washington Huskies sailed to an 8-1 victory over Bethune-Cookman Friday. Pat Moore threw a two-hit complete game, her second complete game win in her two starts. Washington is now 12-1 on the season, with three more games to come this weekend.

Moore bested her previous Husky career high with nine strikeouts in the two-hitter. The junior retired eight straight at one point and walked just one batter in the game. Moore would allow only one hit through the first 6.2 innings before a dribbler through the right side. Bethune-Cookman could not get multiple runners in the same inning at any point in the game.

On offense, it was a hit parade for Washington. Baylee Klingler, Kelley Lynch, Emma Helm, and Kaija Gibson all had multiple hits. All but the nine-spot in the lineup recorded at least one hit for the Huskies. Washington would have six extra-base hits in the game coming from five different players.

		SCORING
First Inning: Washington's first five batters all reached base safely, with four of them recording hits and two going for extra-bases. Washington would score four times in the frame thanks to RBI from Klingler, Helm, and Livy Schiele. Second Inning: Two wild pitches allowed Bethune-Cookman to score a run after recording their first hit of the game. Third Inning: For the third time in as many games, Lynch went yard, this time a solo shot after the walkoff home run less than an hour earlier against Wisconsin. Fifth Inning: Down 0-2, Gibson nonetheless laced a liner right back up the middle for the RBI single. Another RBI single came two batters later from Ari Quiñones to make it 7-1. Sixth Inning: With the bases loaded, Gibson singled down the rightfield line, bringing in one more run for the final 8-1 margin.

		NOTES
Lynch (2x3, 2 R, HR) is now tied for the Pac-12 lead in extra-base hits, with nine. Lynch has homered in three consecutive games, the longest home run streak by a Husky since Kirstyn Thomas had homers in five consecutive games in 2018. Moore (7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 9 K) has allowed three hits total in her two starts this season. Helm (2x4, 2 2B, RBI) has a four-game hit streak, hitting .461 with three doubles and three RBI. Reynolds (1x3, 2 R, 2B) has scored at least one run in five straight games. Nelson (1x1) is 2-for-3 this year as a pinch-hitter. In her last five games, Klingler (3x4, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI) has nine RBI.

Washington plays twice tomorrow, first against #3 Oklahoma at 12:30 pm, then against Nebraska at 5:00 pm.
