Huskies Will Head To Columbus For ITA Kickoff

SEATTLE – College tennis is coming. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association held its Kickoff Weekend Draft today to assemble the bracket for the 2021 season's first major event. The Huskies will be a part of the action, one of just 28 teams competing for seven spots in the ITA National Indoor Championships.
Washington will travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Kickoff Weekend matches on Jan. 23-24, 2021. Ohio State will be the host and will be UW's first opponent on the 23rd. The two other teams in the four team quadrant are Virginia and Tennessee. The two winners from Jan. 23 will face off on the 24th and the winner will advance to the final site with matches on Feb. 5-8.
The last ITA national rankings prior to the early end of the 2020 season came on March 10, at which point the Huskies were ranked 27th nationally. Ohio State was ranked No. 5, Virginia was No. 11, and Tennessee was No. 23.
The Pac-12 is well represented in the field, with six of the 28 teams coming from the conference.
