Get To Know The Huskies: Lucas Meek

Redshirt sophomore Lucas Meek has quickly made a name for himself this season, scoring early and often with three goals through six matches. A local product from Mercer Island, Meek saw action in one match last season.
Let's get to know Lucas:
1. Why did you choose Washington?
I grew up in the Seattle area cheering for UW and dreamed about attending one day.
2. When did you start playing soccer?
From before I can remember. I started playing lil' kickers and fell in love.
3. What is your earliest or favorite soccer memory?
In Rec soccer our team was called the Golden Dominators and we beat a Bellevue team 21-0 and I scored 14.
4. Who are your four favorite soccer players?
I grew up idolizing David Beckham, now my favorite player is Adnan Januzaj.
5. What is your favorite professional soccer team? How did you become a supporter?
My favorite team is Manchester United, when I was 6 my aunt got me a jersey, and I have been a die-hard supporter ever since.
6. What sport would you play if you didn't play soccer?
Tennis, but it would have to be doubles because I like having teammates.
7. What is the best advice you have ever received?
ABC- Always Be Connecting
8. What is your favorite place to go around Seattle?
Marination Ma Kai on Alki Beach.
9. What is one random fact that people wouldn't know about you?
I am extremely good at Mario Kart.
10. What song would you sing at Karaoke night?
Breaking Free- High School Musical, of course I would be dueting
11. What is your pet peeve?
A dirty house.
12. What is your favorite movie?
Rush, a movie about Formula 1.
13. What is your favorite quote?
"That's what she said"
14. What is your favorite show to binge watch?
Game of Thrones and The Office.
15. If you could choose where UW would go on its next foreign tour, where would it be?
Sweden and Norway
16. Would you rather go 30 days without your phone or never play soccer again?
30 days without my phone.
