Jacque Robinson To Be Inducted Into Rose Bowl Hall Of Fame
September 16, 2019 | Football
Former Washington tailback Jacque Robinson, the Most Valuable Player of the 1982 Rose Bowl, will be inducted into the game's Hall of Fame on December 31 of this year.
Robinson joins USC quarterback Matt Leinart, Ohio State QB Cornelius Green and the late Eddie Casey, a back from Harvard, in the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame's Class of 2019.
Robinson is the ninth former UW player or coach to earn a spot in the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame, which inducted its first class in 1989.
Only a freshman in that 1982 Rose Bowl game, Robinson earned MVP honors in the Huskies' 28-0 win over Iowa, the first freshman ever so honored. He rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Robinson, the father of former UW basketball and football star Nate Robinson, was also named the MVP of the 1985 Orange Bowl, becoming the first player ever to win MVP honors in those two major bowls.
The 2019 Rose Bowl Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies will be held on the grounds of the stadium in Pasadena on Dec. 31, 2019, the day before the 2020 Rose Bowl Game.
