Four Huskies Earn Pac-12 Academic All-Conference Honors

SAN FRANCISCO --- Sophomore Vanessa Wong and junior Katarina Kopcalic earned second team honors and seniors Stacey Fung and Kenadi Hance each received honorable mention as the Pac-12 announced the 2019 women's tennis Academic All-Conference recipients on Tuesday morning.
Wong posted a 3.84 GPA during her second season at UW while working toward a pre-Arts and Sciences degree. Wong was the Huskies' #2 player in singles, posting a 27-7 overall record, including a 20-4 mark in dual matches. She finished the season with her first ITA ranking at NO. 92 and has already amassed 55 career wins through two seasons.
Kopcalic was a repeat honoree this season, earning second-team recognition as well in 2018. The Huskies' #3 singles player posted a 3.75 GPA through her first three years in pursuit of a psychology degree. Kopcalic went 22-10 on the season including an impressive 12-2 mark in tournament play. She also went 9-4 in double play during the fall season.
Fung has been the Huskies' top player this season and holds a 3.20 GPA while working toward a communications degree. Fung, who earned her third-straight trip to the NCAA Individual Tournament where she will compete in both singles and doubles play, posted a 17-10 singles record this year and a 21-10 doubles mark.
Hance has a 3.09 GPA as she closes out her Husky career and nears a BA in communications. She recently earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors for the first time in her career after finishing with a 17-8 singles record and 26-10 doubles mark. Her 26 doubles wins led the team and are tied for the second-most in program history.
Washington wrapped up one of its most successful seasons in team history last week, falling in the NCAA Third Round at No. 7 UCLA. The Huskies went 21-5, winning 20+ matches for the fifth time in program history and reaching the NCAA round of 16 for the first time in a decade.
