SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The #3 Washington Huskies started the series with a resounding 13-0 win over the Utah Utes, scoring four runs in the first inning as the offense clicked from the get-go. Sami Reynolds drove in a career-best four runs, the second game in a row that a Husky freshman has had four RBI after SilentRain Espinoza did so last night. Noelle Hee launched a grand slam and drove in six runs, matching a career high set last season.

The Huskies are now on a 15-game winning streak, their second winning streak of 15 or more games in the last two seasons and the sixth such streak during Heather Tarr's tenure. Washington is 37-6 on the year and 13-3 in Pac-12 play, with 13 conference wins in a row.

The first six outs of the game were all strikeouts for Gabbie Plain, who shutout the Utes while allowing four baserunners total. Only one runner reached scoring position all game against Plain, who struck out double-digit batters for the third consecutive game.

		SCORING
First Inning: A triple by Reynolds was the catalyst for Washington's first inning scoring. Reynolds drove in Sis Bates, who had singled earlier, with the three-bagger, then scored on Hee's single up the middle one pitch later. Singles by Kaija Gibson and Espinoza later on would make it 4-0. Second Inning: Hee's second RBI single in as many at-bats brought Washington's fifth run home. Third Inning: Bates' third hit in as many innings scored another run before Reynolds' three-run double made it 9-0. Fifth Inning: For the second game in a row, the Huskies hit a grand slam, this time coming courtesy of Hee, who deposited the ball over the scoreboard in center.

		NOTES
Plain (5.0 IP, 3 H, 10 K) has retired the first batter of the game in 17 of her 19 starts. This was Plain's second consecutive shutout, the fourth time this year she has had back-to-back shutouts. Hee (3x4, 2 R, HR, 6 RBI) matched her career high in RBI, set February 10, 2018 against Miami (OH). Espinoza (2x3, 2 R, RBI) has three multi-hit games in her last four. Bates (4x4, 4 R, 2B, RBI) had her second perfect 4-for-4 game of the season, both coming in the last eight games. Reynolds (2x2, 2 R, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI) has a four-game hit streak, with an extra-base hit in every game.

The Huskies will play Utah twice more, tomorrow at 5:00 pm PT and Saturday at 11:00 am PT. Washington finished the road trip with an April 22 game against Utah Valley.
