Huskey Named Pac-12 Freshman Of The Week

SAN FRANCISCO - Washington's Madison Huskey has been named the Pac-12's Freshman of the Week today, her first career weekly award honor. Huskey hit two home runs during Washington's sweep of #23 Arizona State, extending Washington's winning streak to 13 games.
Last week, Huskey hit .571/.667/1.429, scoring four runs and driving in three during the three-game sweep. She had hits in all three games, building her first hitting streak of her career. Huskey finished the weekend with her third career multi-hit game, going a perfect 2-for-2 with a walk.
Huskey is the first Washington freshman to win Freshman of the Week from the Pac-12 this season. She is the fourth member of the Husky roster to have earned a Freshman of the Week award in her career, joining Taran Alvelo, Morganne Flores, and Gabbie Plain in that regard. Huskey and Plain are the only Huskies to earn weekly awards from the Pac-12 this season, with Plain having twice earned Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week.
