Three-Run Sixth Carries Huskies In Shutout Of Ohio State

SEATTLE – In their first home game of the season, the #6 Washington Huskies blanked the Ohio State Buckeyes 3-0. Gabbie Plain was once again excellent in the circle, while the offense cruised to victory behind clutch hitting in the sixth inning, scoring all three of their runs in that frame.
Plain struck out 12 and allowed only two baserunners in the game, both on base hits. She ended the game retiring ten in a row, including striking out the side in the sixth on just ten pitches. The sophomore earned her seventh win for the performance.
Offensively, Sis Bates led the way with two hits, scoring the game's first run. Taryn Atlee drove in two in the game, while Kaija Gibson scored a run and drove in another.
Washington is back at it again tomorrow, with a 3:45 pm game against Northern Illinois and a 6:00 pm matchup with Idaho State.
