Evanni Roberson Earns All-Pac-12 Honors
March 25, 2019 | Gymnastics
SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference announced the winners of its 2019 All-Pac-12 awards, with Washington's Evanni Roberson earning All-Pac-12 Second Team for her all-around performance this season. This is the second year in a row that Roberson has earned All-Pac-12 honors, picking up a Second Team Beam award after the 2018 season.
Roberson joins Hailey Burleson, Joslyn Goings, and Allison Northey as the only GymDawgs to earn multiple All-Pac-12 awards in the last decade. Those four GymDawgs, along with Lauren Rogers, are Washington's only All-Pac-12 All-Around honorees over the last ten years. Washington has had at least one All-Pac-12 award for each of the last nine years now.
This year, Roberson set career highs on every event, earning scores of 9.900 or better on all five events. She had a score of 9.950 on beam at Arizona, the highest beam score by a GymDawg since 2004. Despite competing in only eight meets due to injury, Roberson still earned ten event titles, including three beam titles and four all-around titles. In her career, Roberson has already won 16 event titles in 22 total meets.
Roberson had nine scores of 9.900 or higher this season. Against #12 Boise State, she earned an all-around score of 39.500, a career-best score and the highest of any GymDawg this year. Twice this season she recorded three scores of 9.900 or better in the same meet.
Washington will compete in the Corvallis Regional next this season, taking part in session one on Friday, April 5 at 2:00 pm.
