SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. – The Washington women's golf team finished in a tie for third place at 7-under par after the final round of play on Sunday at the Mountain View Collegiate. The Huskies played their best round of tournament, shooting a 3-under round of 285.
"We played well early, we just couldn't finish off the round," said head coach
Mary Lou Mulflur. "Some of our younger players got some good experience this week. We are looking forward to the ASU Invitational this weekend."
Senior
Sarah Rhee, playing as an individual, finished tied for 10
th place at 3-under par. Rhee shot an even par round of 72 on Sunday. Rhee's top-10 finish was her third of the season and her fifth top-20.
Freshman
Martha Lewis earned a tie for 15
th place 2-under par after carding a third-round 71. Lewis' finish was her second top-20 of the year.
Senior
Wenyung Keh, also playing as individual, finished the event a 2-under par and tied for 15
th place. Keh shot a 2-over round of 74 on Sunday. Keh now has five top-20 finishes in six events on the season.
Senior
Julianne Alvarez had the team's lowest round of the tournament, shooting a 4-under round of 68 in the final round. Alvarez tied for 19
th place at 1-under par. Alvarez earned her fifth top-20.
Sophomore
Rino Sasaki finished the tournament a 1-over par and in a tie for 24
th place. Sasaki carded a 6-over par round of 78 on Sunday.
Junior
Alice Duan tied for 33
rd place at 3-over par for the tournament. Duan shot a 1-under round of 71 in her third round, which was her best round of the event.
Junior
Karen Miyamoto shot a 3-over round of 75 and earned 39
th place finish at 3-over par.
Sophomore
Wenyan Ma, playing as an individual, finished in in 76
th place after shooting a 3-over round of 75 on Sunday.
Iowa State won the tournament at 29-under par, beating second place Texas State by 14 strokes. Polly Mack of UNLV won the individual tournament at 10-under par.
The Huskies will next be in action on March 29-31 in Tempe, Ariz. for the PING ASU Invitational.
