SEATTLE – In a Pac-12 pitching duel, the #5 Washington Huskies took the loss against the #1 UCLA Bruins. One swing made the difference, with a three-run double in the sixth the only scoring in the game.
Washington chipped away offensively throughout the game but couldn't quite find the big hit they needed.
Taryn Atlee,
Amirah Milloy, and
Noelle Hee all had hits in the first four innings for UW. The Huskies would put the first two batters on in the seventh as they threatened once again but took the 3-0 loss.
Gabbie Plain did not allow a hit in four scoreless innings to start the game, allowing only one baserunner, via walk. She set down the side in order three times, retiring the first ten batters she faced.
Taran Alvelo worked the last three innings of the game, striking out three.
