Dawgs Fall On The Road At No. 17 Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, MN --- The Washington Husky men's tennis team lost to No. 17 Minnesota on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Huskies record now stands at 3-6 on the season.
The match started with the Gophers winning two of the three doubles matches and taking a 1-0 lead.
The freshman duo of Ewen Lumsden and Ernesto Turegano fell to Alpeza and Milicevic 4-6. The doubles point was decided as Allen and Ogilvy defeated Lam and Sommer 7-5.
In singles action, the Giophers quickly took a 2-0 lead as Alpeza defeated Turegano 6-4, 6-3. The next match to be decided was on Court 6 as Lam lost to Lobak 6-7, 3-6.
Minnesota then clinched the match with their fourth point on Court 3 as Allen beat sophomore Jack Davis 6-4, 6-4.
The Huskies got on the board next as senior Enzo Sommer defeated 38th ranked Josip Krstanovic in a three-set match 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Lumsden fell to Ogilvy 5-7, 6-1 2-6. Finally, senior Piers Foley took his match on Court 2, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 for the second UW point of the match.
UW will next be in action on Sunday, March 3 at 8 a.m. PST on the road at Indiana.
