Multiple Career Highs For GymDawgs In Front Of Record Crowd
February 10, 2019 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE – In front of a record crowd of over 7000, the Washington GymDawgs improved on their last two meets, putting up a score of 196.000 at home against the #3 UCLA Bruins. Three GymDawgs; Amara Cunningham, Brenna Brooks, and Geneva Thompson, set new career highs on floor. Maya Washington and Kristyn Hoffa each recorded scores of 9.875 in the meet, both on floor, to lead the team.
"I would first and foremost like the thank all the passionate gymnastics fans who made it to the meet even in the snow. It was a spectacular crowd!" said Elise Ray-Statz about the record-breaking attendance. "From a performance standpoint, like most of our meets this season so far, there were a lot of great routines. But overall, we're underperforming so it will be our goal to fix that."
Washington's team score of 49.200 on floor was just barely off its season high, set two weeks ago with a 49.225. The team nearly broke the 49.000 mark on bars and beam, with a 48.975 on bars and a 48.950 on beam.
