Huskies Look Sharp in Day Two of ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. --- Washington swept a pair of doubles matches before splitting four singles matches on the second day of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational on Saturday.
The Huskies were paired against Michigan in the singles portion of the tournament on Saturday and splitting both matches. Vanessa Wong pulled out a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Bella Lorenzini while Natsuho Arakawa recorded a three-set win over Chiara Lommer, 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-1. Katarina Kopcalic and Sedona Gallagher suffered tough losses with Kopcalic falling 6-1, 6-4 and Gallagher losing 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles, Kopcalic and Gallagher picked up a quick win over Cantos Siemers/Chen from Ohio State, 6-2, while Wong and Arakawa cruised past Patuik/Van Linge from Michigan 6-1.
The Huskies wrap up the three-day event on Sunday beginning at 9:00 a.m.
