Cristian Roldan, Handwalla Bwana Help Seattle Sounders Capture MLS Cup

SEATTLE β University of Washington men's soccer alumni Cristian Roldan and Handwalla Bwana are MLS Cup champions after helping Seattle Sounders FC to a league title in a 3-1 win over Toronto FC on Sunday afternoon.
Roldan started in the middle of the park for the Sounders and played 90 minutes in the MLS Cup final. He started all four of Seattle's postseason matches this fall, recording an assist in the Sounders' 4-3 win over Dallas in the first round of the MLS Playoffs. He finished the 2019 regular season with six goals and five assists.
Bwana was an unused substitute in Sunday's MLS Cup match. He saw action in 15 matches during the regular season, registering one goal and one assist.
Roldan spent two seasons on Montlake, joining the Huskies ahead of their 2013 campaign before departing for the MLS following his sophomore season in 2014. He was taken 16th overall by the Sounders in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Bwana spent two seasons at the UW, starting 26 of 39 career appearances and recording 12 goals and 13 assists.
