SEATTLE – Washington Head Coach Matt Anger has added a third member to UW's 2018-19 freshman class, as Ewen Lumsden will arrive this fall from Lenzie, Scotland.
Lumsden achieved a career-high International Tennis Federation world junior ranked of No. 140 and picked up ATP Tour points to earn a ranking of 1,748. His Universal Tennis Rating is 13.42 which would have placed him third on the 2018 Husky squad. A well-traveled junior, Lumsden made the finals of junior ITF events in the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, and Romania.
"We are thrilled that Ewen has signed to join us this coming September," said Anger. "He has a good amount of international experience. He is a solid all-around player and with his experience, should get off to a good start this fall."
Lumsden joins a class that includes Ernesto Turegano from Valencia, Spain, and Kasper Smith from Boulder, Colorado.
