Anderson, Gardiner Take Part In USA Collegiate Beach

SEATTLE - While the team season is at an end, Washington seniors Jordan Anderson and Kimmy Gardiner are getting back into the sand this week for one more tournament together, as they were selected to compete in the second annual USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships. The tournament, featuring 30 pairs, takes place this Thursday through Saturday, May 10-12, at Hermosa Beach in California.

Anderson and Gardiner are the second Husky duo selected for the Collegiate Beach Championships, following Crissy Jones and Tia Scambray last season. Many of the top duos from teams that were competing for the NCAA title last week will be on hand. Anderson and Gardiner are one of four Pac-12 pairs to compete. Winners will be playing for a spot to represent the United States at the 2018 FISU World University Championship.

All matches up until the finals will be streamed live online.

Anderson and Gardiner played every match together this season at the No. 1 spot for the Huskies, helping UW finish fourth in the Pac-12 Championships. The two went 15-12 on the year with key wins over the No. 1 teams from Long Beach State, LMU, California, Arizona State, Utah, Oregon, and New Mexico.

Saturday, May 12:
