EUGENE, Ore. โ In the first match of Pac-12 play, No. 33 Washington lost 5-2 at No. 21 Oregon in the Student Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
"First of all, credit to Oregon," Washington head coach Robin Stephenson said. "They came out and played very well from start to finish. They're playing with a lot of confidence and energy, and they were better than us today. We are fighting to become the team we know we can be and we will bounce back and get things going in the right direction."

Washington fell to 8-6 (0-1 Pac-12) after the loss to Oregon (10-3, 1-0 Pac-12). Two of the doubles sets were close, but the Dawgs struggled in the first set in singles. Four lost in two sets and two matches went to three sets. UW has now lost four of its last five.

In doubles, all three Husky duos won their opening games. However, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles for Washington struggled after that. Both Prokopuik and Hance lost their matches in two sets. Kopcalic had a 3-0 lead to start the first set but ended up falling 7-5. She got out to the same start in the second set, 3-0, but allowed her opponent to win six-straight games to win the set, 6-3, and the match. That win for the Ducks clinched the team win for the home team.
