Meet The GymDawgs This Weekend
November 05, 2018 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE - The first chance for fans to see the Washington GymDawgs in action this year is set for this weekend, as the annual Meet the GymDawgs event will take place Saturday, November 10 at 3:00 pm in Alaska Airlines Arena. Admission for Meet the GymDawgs is free for all fans.
Meet the GymDawgs will give fans a chance to see all of this year's gymnastics team in action, with Washington's six newcomers set to take part in the day's events. There will be fun for all ages: fans can get their faces painted, make a poster, take a turn in the photo booth, win free raffle prizes, and get autographs from all the GymDawgs.
Washington's 2019 season will begin in earnest on January 12. The GymDawgs will be looking to make their third straight trip to NCAA Nationals. Washington's road to Nationals will feature three Super Six teams from 2018, as well as last year's national champion in UCLA. Washington will have four home meets (January 26, February 10, March 8, and March 10) and will be featured on ESPN 2 this year for the February 10 meet. The GymDawgs will also make four appearances on the Pac-12 Network.
In addition to six heralded newcomers, this year's GymDawgs will return two of last year's NCAA Regionals floor champions in Kristyn Hoffa and Maya Washington. Also back are 2018 All-Pac-12 honorees Monica Riley and Evanni Roberson. In all, eight GymDawgs are back from last year, looking to improve on the program's best-ever regular season finish of eighth in the country.
Make sure to follow the GymDawgs on Twitter with the username @UWGymnastics and on Instagram at uwgymnastics.
