Get To Know: Ruby Hellstrom

Ruby Hellstrom'sΒ collegiate career started with a bang as the freshman scored the game's first goal just minutes after coming onto the pitch against #7 Florida. Hellstrom would provide the Huskies with a bundle of energy off the bench numerous times, adding a second goal against Seattle U just before the final horn. In all, HellstromΒ fired 15 shots in her 15 appearances for Washington as a freshman.
What is your favorite soccer memory?
Getting to play with a professional team in Sweden.
What's the coolest place you have traveled?
Belize and Guatemala.
What is something you want to learn?
I want to learn to speak Swedish.
What's a talent you have people do not know about?
I can bite ice cream and it doesn't hurt my teeth.
What is your favorite music?
I like to listen to R&B music.
What is your favorite part of campus?
All of it! it's all so beautiful.
What are some of your hobbies?
I like to run, hang out with friends, and listen to music.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In graduate school for either medicine or business.
Why did you choose to come to Washington?
It feels like home. I have loved Washington and Seattle for as long as I can remember.

I scored a bicycle kick goal in regionals when my team went to Hawai'i.
