Washington to Begin Play at UCSB Classic

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- The Washington men's tennis team will begin play at the UCSB Classic beginning on Friday, Oct 5. Seven Huskies will make their season debut as the tournament plays host to 10 teams including California, Cal Poly, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Oregon, Stanford, UC Davis and UCLA.

The four Husky returning players competing in the event are sophomore Jack Davis, sophomore Alexis Alvarez, senior Sebastian Hawken and senior Piers Foley. Three freshman will make their Husky debut in Kasper Smith, Adam Torocsik, and Ernesto Turegano Julian.

The tournament format consists of four singles flights and three doubles flights.

Singles Flight A: Ernesto Turegano Julian vs. Antoine Noel (Cal Poly)
Jack Davis vs. Michael Genender (Stanford)

Singles Flight B: Piers Foley vs. Ethan Young-Smith (Oregon)
Alexis Alvarez vs. Henrique Osorio (Fresno State)

Singles Flight C: Adam Torocsik vs. Alex Scemanenco (UC Davis)
Sebastian Hawken vs. Cambell Nakayama (Cal Poly)
Kasper Smith vs. Dariush Jalali (UC Davis)

Doubles Flight A: Davis/Foley vs. Rotheram/Krustev (UCSB)

Doubles Flight B: Hawken/Turegano vs. Tsolakyan/Wild (UCLA)
Torocsik/Smith vs. Soto/Koyanagi (UCSB)
