Fung and Zupancic Advance to Semifinals at ITA Regional Championships

STANFORD, Calif. --- Stacey Fung and Nika Zupancic won two doubles matches on Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships.
In the morning, Fung and Zupancic took down Kozyreza and Ville from St. Mary's 8-5 in the round of 16 to reach the quarterfinals. The Husky duo would go on to defeat the top seeded team in the tournament Hauger and Rosenqvist from Cal 8-5 in the quarterfinal match.
Fung and Zupancic will take on the fourth seeded team of Madurawe and Yee from Stanford in the semifinals at 11:00 a.m. A live stream of the match will be available here: http://streamingtennis.com/Cardinal/index.html.
Three Huskies competed in singles consolation matches on Sunday, first with senior Kenadi Hance taking down Komer from Gonzaga in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Sedona Gallagher fell to Bright from Cal 2-6, 6-4. Freshman Delara Zamani lost to Goyette from St. Mary's 2-6, 6-7(3).
Natsuho Arakawa and Sedona Gallagher beat Husferovic and Hummel 8-0. Hance and Kopcalic took down Goyette and Clement from St. Mary's 8-5. Wong and Zamani lost to Nelson and Zeynel from Cal 3-8.
