
Washington Continues Strong Play at Portland-Seattle Battle

VANCOUVER, Wash. --- The Washington women's tennis team completed the second day of play at the Portland-Seattle Battle on Saturday at the Vancouver Tennis Center. Through two days of action, the Huskies have only lost one match.
In doubles play he freshman tandem of Delara Zamani and Nika Zupancic defeated Milenkoski/Rees of Portland State 6-1. Senior Kenadi Hance and junior Katarina Kopcalic beat Meszaros/Nikitovic from Portland State 6-3 in their doubles match.
Junior Natsuho Arakawa and freshman Sedona Gallagher took down LeBlanc/Soares from Portland 6-3. Junior Abbey Watanabe and Zupancic beat Oberg/Schuster from Portland 7-6 (2).
In singles play, Gallagher defeated Meszaros 6-3, 6-3. She would then go on to beat Lukic from Portland 6-2, 6-1.
Zupancic beat Ramalle from Portland 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. Later in the day she beat Meszaros 6-4, 6-3.
In her first match of the day Kopcalic won versus LeBlanc 6-4, 6-3. In her second match of the day she took down Milenkoski.
Arakawa won 6-1, 6-1 over Milenkoski in her first match of the day. She then defeated Dimitrova from Portland 6-2, 6-2.
Watanabe fell to Schuster 1-6, 4-6 in her opening match. In the her second match she beat Valk from Portland State 7-5, 6-2.
Zamani won against Valk 2-6, 6-0, 6-1. Later in the day, she defeated Soares 6-4, 6-3.
In her first match, Hance breezed by Rees 6-1, 6-0. She would go on to defeat Oberg 6-1, 6-4.
The final day of play at the Portland-Seattle Battle will begin at 9:30 a.m.
