Two Husky Pairs in Doubles Quartefinal at ITA Northwest Regionals

SEATTLE --- The Washington men's tennis team completed the second day of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships. Two Husky doubles teams remaining both advanced to the quarterfinals which will be played on Saturday. In the morning on Friday, the Huskies had six individuals move on to the Round of 32 however all six failed to reach the Round of 16.
Sixteen singles players remain as the Round of 16 begins on Saturday with eight doubles teams competing in the quarterfinals.
In doubles play, the team of Enzo Sommer and Kawika Lam continued their strong play with an 8-3 victory over Gu/Illiopoulos from Santa Clara. They will take on Feit and O'Sullivan from Gonzaga in the quarterfinal match on Saturday.
Jack Davis and Piers Foley also won their Round of 16 match against Egger/Everly from Gonzaga 8-3. The Husky pair will face Coste/Gentry from Oregon in the quarterfinals.
Freshman Kasper Smith reached the Round of 32 after taking down Avery West from Portland State, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Smith would go on to drop his Round of 32 match to Carlos Donat from Portland, 0-6, 3-6.
Davis beat Chethan Swanson from UC Davis in his first match of the day 6-1, 6-2. Davis fell to Jacob Brumm from California 1-6, 7-6, 1-6 in the Round of 32.
Sommer beat Phuc Nuynh from San Francisco 7-6, 7-5 in the second round matchup. Sommer would go on to lose to Sam Feit from Gonzaga 5-7, 2-6 in the Round of 32.

Foley won his second round match 6-0, 1-6, 6-2 over Colton Weeldreyer from Seattle U. Foley lost his next match to Emmanuel Coste from Oregon 6-1, 4-6, 3-6.
Freshman Ewen Lumsden defeated Romeo Mitdgaard Jivraj from San Francisco 6-3, 6-2 in his second round matchup. Lumsden lost to Philip Hjorth in the Round of 32 5-7, 4-6.
Senior Sebastian Hawken lost in his second round matchup to Donat 1-6, 4-6.
Freshman Adam Torocsik lost in his second round to Andrew Gu from Santa Clara 1-6, 0-6.
Lam lost to Jack Molloy from California 4-6, 0-6 in his second round match.
Sophomore Alexis Alvarez fell to Yuta Kikuchi from California 3-6, 3-6.
