ITA Kick-off Weekend Awaits Washington

SEATTTLE – This weekend, Washington women's tennis will be participating in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kick-off Weekend in Durham, North Carolina beginning on Saturday against No. 20 LSU.
On Saturday at 10 a.m. ET, the Huskies (1-1) will take on the Tigers (2-0) in the opening round. This is the first meeting between the two schools in women's tennis. Depending on the results of Saturday's action, the Dawgs will face either host-school No. 9 Duke or Fresno State.
Washington is coming off of a 4-1 loss to No. 8 Texas Tech in the home opener. Though the team did not win, there were some big individual wins. Kenadi Hance and Lana Slavica took down the No. 21 doubles duo. Additionally, No. 115 Vanessa Wong earned another ranked win in her freshman campaign, beating No. 23 Felicity Maltby.
In the ITA rankings, LSU has four players ranked in singles: No. 47 Elyse Lavender, No. 56 Eden Richardson, No. 66 Jessica Golovin and No. 73 Ryann Foster.
The team match between UW and LSU will begin at 10 a.m. ET.
