Husky Home Opener On Friday

SEATTLE – After a season-opening victory at Hawaii on Saturday, Washington women's tennis will hold the home opener against No. 8 Texas Tech at the Nordstrom Tennis Center on Friday at 12 p.m. PT.

The Huskies (1-0) are coming off of a 5-2 win at Hawaii before playing the Red Raiders (?-?). They dropped the doubles point, winning just one of the three matches. In singles, Washington won five of six points. The Dawgs are represented in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings by No. 6 Stacey Fung and No. 115 Vanessa Wong.

In the series history against Texas Tech, the Red Raiders have won the lone match between these two schools. The latest ITA team rankings were released on Wednesday and Texas Tech is at No. 8. Individually, the Red Raiders have Gabriela Talaba at No. 5, Felicity Maltby at No. 23 and Katelyn Jackson clocking in at No. 123.
