Wade, Crabtree Lead Beach Academic Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – Graduate student Melanie Wade added to her long list of academic honors today with a Pac-12 All-Academic First Team selection for beach volleyball, as the conference announced its awards today. Junior Anna Crabtree also was voted to the Second Team, while six more Dawgs earned honorable mention.
To be eligible for selection to the All-Academic Teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average, be either a starter or significant contributor and have a minimum of one year of enrollment at their institution.
Wade is an All-Academic First Team member for the second straight year in beach. After completing her Bachelor's in Psychology last year, Wade began pursuit of her Master's in Intercollegiate Athletics Leadership, where she currently owns a 3.78 GPA.
Crabtree joined the Dawgs as a walk-on this year in her junior year at Washington. The Bellevue, Wash. native has a 3.63 cumulative grade point average with a Business Administration major.
Senior Cassie Strickland, also pursuing her Master's in Intercollegiate Athletics Leadership, and junior Crissy Jones each garnered All-Academic honorable mention for the second straight season.
Four Dawgs earned their first beach academic honorable mentions, including sophomore Lindsay Chalmers, junior Carly DeHoog, sophomore Destiny Julye, and junior Courtney Schwan.
