Saturday Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships Canceled
April 29, 2017 | Men's Golf
BOULDER, Colo. -- Saturday's scheduled competition in the 58th annual Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships was canceled due to overnight snow making the conditions at Boulder Country Club unplayable.
After play was suspended due to darkness on Friday (April 28) with 12 players, including three Huskies, still on the course, the completion of the second round and the entire third round was set to finish today, but that never materialized after up to five inches of snow fell in the Boulder area.
The goal now is to complete 54 holes, shortening from the scheduled 72, and the earliest start for the completion of the second round will begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. PT, with the third round set to follow. The starting time is fluid depending on course conditions.
For the championship to be official, at least 36 holes must be completed.
Washington is currently in second place, trailing Oregon by three stokes. Sophomore Carl Yuan is tied for first while senior Corey Pereira is in fourth to lead Washington. Joining the pair in the top-10 is freshman Henry Lee who currently sits in eighth in his first Pac-12 Championships.
