Kasey French Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

SEATTLE --- Washington sophomore defender Kasey French was one of 11 student-athletes named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 First Team as announced by the organization on Thursday.Β
French, who is a junior academically, is a Pre-Science major and had posted a 3.86 GPA through his first two years at UW.Β
French is also a key part of the Washington backline which has allowed just 15 goals all season. The sophomore played in 12-straight matches to open the season before suffering an injury and missing the last six games. Last season, French saw little time on the pitch, but has become a main-stay on defense this year.
The award is presented by and voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced in December.
The Huskies close out the regular season this afternoon at Oregon State beginning at 2:00 p.m.
