
Wong Advances To Championship Match

ROLLING HILLS ESTATE, Calif. – Vanessa Wong won two three-set matches to advance to Sunday's singles finals at the Jack Kramer Club Invitational on Saturday.
Wong, a freshman, won her first match against Pac-12 foe Julia Eshet from Oregon. Following a 7-6 first set loss, she won the next two sets, 6-4, 7-6.
In the semifinals, Wong took on the No. 1 seed Laura Gulbe from Pepperdine. Wong won the first set, 6-2, before dropping the second set by the same score. The Husky freshman completed the upset of No. 66 Gulbe by winning the third set, 6-3.
Wong will play in the championship match on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. PT. Updated draws can be seen on the USTA website.
