Jessica Udovich Named To All-Region Team

SEATTLE - After a successful year of defensive excellence on the backline, Jessica Udovich was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Third Team. It is the first All-Region award of Udovich's career and sixth in the last five years for the Huskies.
Udovich started all 20 games for Washington in central defense this year. After missing almost all of the last two seasons with injuries, Udovich played all but 45 minutes this year, sitting out half of the Michigan State game before playing every second of the next 18 games.
A third-year sophomore, Udovich was named the Nike Portland Invitational Defensive MVP after helping the Huskies shutout Baylor and Boise State at that tournament. Udovich was also named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on September 10 during Washington's run of five consecutive shutouts.
In addition to the awards for her on-the-field play, Udovich earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention honors for her work in the classroom.
This year, the Huskies allowed just 15 goals, the fewest allowed by the Huskies since 2001. Udovich helped the team record a school-record 11 shutouts as well.
