
Get To Know: Jennifer Oh

A state champion in 2016, Oh is another of the fresh faces on the GymDawgs, ready to compete as one of three freshmen on the team. Oh finished third in the all-around at the 2016 JO Nationals after winning the beam at regional competition. This year, she looks to continue to build up strength after an injury in high school while contributing to the team on and off the floor.
Why did you choose UW?
Oh: I chose UW because of the multi-cultural environment and the beauty of Washington's nature.
What are your hobbies outside gymnastics?
Oh: I love to listen to music and binge watch TV shows.
What's your favorite place to hang out in Seattle?
Oh: Probably Pike Place because of all the cool things you can find there!
How do you get ready for a meet?
Oh: I listen to a lot of up beat music to get myself ready for the meet as I do my makeup.
What are your goals this year?
Oh: Because I'm coming back from an injury, I would just like to have a strong come back to help the team in lineups on whichever events I end up competing.
What do you want to do after college?
Oh: Well I'm not quite sure what I want to major in but I would like to find a steady job whether it means I have to go to graduate school or not.
What is your favorite part of UW?
Oh: Definitely the people! People from around the country are coming to UW, you can meet some really awesome people here!
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Oh: To never lose sight of the big picture.
What is your hidden talent?
Oh: I'm not bad at bowling!
