June 30, 2016 | General
SEATTLE – In concert with the Pac-12 Conference and its new OAS (official athletics site) partner SIDEARM Sports, the University of Washington athletic department launched a redesigned GoHuskies.com Thursday, showcasing a commitment to brand identity and a focus built on community engagement.
The new GoHuskies.com takes advantage of a clean and efficient design while adding tools and features that enhance the overall user experience.
New features to GoHuskies.com include:
Based out of Syracuse, NY, SIDEARM Sports provides the software and technology that powers websites, mobile applications, live stats, social presence and video streaming for over 850 colleges, universities, and high school sports programs across North America.
About University of Washington Athletics:
Washington Athletics inspires champions on the field and in the classroom. Like the region and world-class University they represent, the Huskies choose to lead by example. With over 650 student-athletes competing throughout UW's 22 sports programs, the department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to a leading-edge student-athlete experience, and offering student-athletes the ability to compete for NCAA and Pac-12 championships while working toward a degree from one of the world's leading public research universities. The Huskies have consistently placed among the top three universities in the Pac-12 in both Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR).
The new GoHuskies.com takes advantage of a clean and efficient design while adding tools and features that enhance the overall user experience.
New features to GoHuskies.com include:
- An interactive schedule module that lives atop each page allows for quick and convenient access to schedule information for all programs at Washington. Its design equips users with event recaps, ticket purchasing options, event broadcast information, and more.
- University of Washington Athletics is built on special moments that are accomplished by exceptional people. A homepage and sport page photo module will bring those experiences to the forefront in a truly dynamic way.
- Access to quality news and information has always been a foundational element of GoHuskies.com. Users will see ease of access expand with an "endless scroll" news element located on the homepage and individual sport pages.
- GoHuskies.com will continue to operate in responsive manner – meaning all pages are built to function in a dynamic way on both mobile devices and desktop platforms.
- A large portion of work in the redesign process was focused on bolstering the ticket experience for Husky fans. The University of Washington Athletics community will see a brand new tickets landing page and a stronger overall presentation when it comes to gameday information, transportation options, and the ticket purchasing process.
- Official UW Athletics videos and Pac-12 VOD content will now funnel through the official UW Athletics YouTube channel. This change in distribution allows for seamless integration into the new site and also gives users convenient access to view, share, and enjoy Husky video content on multiple devices and platforms.
