
Huskies Fall In First Of Two Los Angeles Matches

LOS ANGELES – The No. 41 Washington women's tennis team fell today to USC 5-2 at David X. Marks Stadium.
The Trojans took the doubles point to begin the match, grabbing the wins on courts one and two. Zoe Katz and Madison Westby of USC defeated Stacey Fung and Tami Grende on court two 6-2, with Nour Abbes and Miki Kobayashi falling shortly after on court one against the No. 8 duo in the country 6-4. Court three's match was not finished.
In singles No. 21 Giuliana Olmos defeated Abbes 6-0, 6-1 with Kenadi Hance falling to No. 65 Jessica Failla on court five 6-1, 6-1 shortly after. USC clinched the match on court three with No. 85 Gabby Smith defeating Grende 6-3, 6-3.
On court six, Sophia Bott fell in the first set 6-2, but was able to battle back in the second against No. 60 Rianna Valdes and win 6-2. Valdes retired in the third set to give Bott the win. Elianne Douglas-Miron fell on court four to Zoe Katz 6-1, 6-1, but No. 99 Fung was able to grab the final match on court two, with a big win against No. 90 Madison Westby 6-4, 7-6, (4).
