Huskies Drop Battle With Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 49 Washington Huskies fell today in a tight match with No. 36 Oregon 4-3 at the Student Tennis Center.
In doubles the Dawgs grabbed the first match on court three with Elianne Douglas-Miron and Kenadi Hance defeating Christi Woodson and Daniela Nasser 6-3. After losing the match on court two Washington battled out a tie-breaker on court one, as the 37th ranked duo of Nour Abbes and Miki Kobayashi defeated No. 33 Kennan Johnson and Shweta Sangwan 7-6 (8-6).
The Huskies took an early 2-0 lead when Sophia Bott defeated Woodson on court six 6-2, 6-1 but were unable to keep the momentum on their side. On court three Tami Grende dropped her match with Nia Rose 6-1, 7-6 with Abbes dropping a close battle with Johnson 1-6, 7-6, 6-3 on court one.
After winning the first set 6-2, Douglas-Miron fell to Sangwan by a score of 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 as Alyssa Tobita clinched the win for Oregon defeating No. 105 Stacey Fung in a back and forth match 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. Hance finished her match on court five, defeating Nasser 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 to bring the final score to 4-3.
